Irish for Primary Teaching

For anyone who is familiar with teacher training.

I'm interested in going for a Primary Teaching qualification after I complete my Arts degree. I only did pass Irish in the Leaving cert.
I believe that if I pass Irish in the first year of an Arts degree, this will suffice
in place of the honour in Irish. The only Irish module I can find on the registration site is beginner's Irish. Does this satisfy the requirement?
