According to the Irish Times story, to get anything beyond the mandatory 2 weeks per year of service in redundancy payment, you have to agree to not work in the public sector again for two years. Has anyone been through the "enhanced redundancy" protocol for public sector workers? According to the Irish Times story, to get anything beyond the mandatory 2 weeks per year of service in redundancy payment, you have to agree to not work in the public sector again for two years.
The odd thing about this is that it also appears to apply to all contract workers. This will surely end up back in the Labour Court as discrimination against fixed term workers?
