Sell or scrap an old car?

I have a 01 Skoda Fabia 1.4 that ran fine until recently, but now it needs a new radiator. Tax is up next month. It's NCT'd until April 03.

I don't really NEED a car at the moment, so I've decided it's not worth it to me to get a new radiator and pay the road tax. Is there any point in trying to sell it in it's present condition? Would I get anything for selling it, or is scrapping it my only option?

Second hand radiator and it'd be back running.

Course its worth something as it is.

You'd have a second hand rad supplied and fitted for under €100. It's worth fixing and selling on.

Any idea where I could pick up a 2nd hand radiator? I asked a local mechanic and he said a new one would cost €250ish.

Even if I fix it, I don't think I'll bother taxing it again, I barely drive it anymore. Would it be better to try sell it as is? I'm worried that even if I replace the radiator, it will be difficult to sell a car with no road tax.

Plenty of cars get sold every day without tax, what bothers most people is if here is work to be done or there is no NCT. You would get a second hand rad in a breakers yard, ring around and see what you can get.

Google "traynors breakers armagh" they deliver to a wide area. It's taxed until the end of Sept isn't it? Either way it won't make a difference, there's a decent bit of test still on her. Price it for 600-800 and she'll be gone within a fortnight tops ;)
