Citroen C4 HDi Car/Van HIGH Emissions!

Well folks some advice if anybody else out there has any experience with the following: Thanks in advance

The car has been lying up for 18 months and I just brought it to the DOE following a service (by a mate I know I know.....). Everything was 100% except the rear axle bushings both needed to be replaced and the exhaust emissions were off the scale 8/10. The lad who was doing the test asked me if the car had been sitting up and I explained it had. He recommended that I put some FORTE diesel treatment in the tank and drive it for a few days.....something about carbon buildup. Has anybody had any experience with this stuff solving the problem or is there something else potentially wrong with the reading being so high????? Is there any way I can check the emission to see if it made a difference before the re-test...... ANY HELP / GUIDANCE appreciated!

any garage that does nct precheck should have the equipment to test the emmissions for you.

throwing some engine cleaner in it and giving it a good hard drive can have a great effect if its been sitting up a while and worth a shot before spending any real money on it

Cheers Irish Eddie ... just got my hands on some FORTE diesel treatment and dumped it in followed by a top up of diesel.

Where did you buy it? I was on their website and they only sell to a garage.
