High Court overturns Rights Commission ruling

A case was taken to the Rights Commissioner by a Pakistani gent who claimed he had been underpaid and badly treated by his employer. The Rights Commissioner found in favour of the claimant and awarded him around €95,000. However today, the High Court has overturned the award on the grounds that the contract between the employer and the clainant had been ILLEGAL, and declared that as a result, the claimant had no case to make against his employer. This makes for a interesting decision to anyone thinking of bringing cases against employers.

Just seen that this item is already covered in another "after hours" thread titled "€91,000 compensation in Dublin "slavery" case (92)". If the Mods want, they can transfer the posts here to the above and close/delete this thread. End double threading
