    HI ALL,

I would really appreciate some help on this one if anyone knows the best way to advise me please shout.

I purchased an optoma hd65 the other day and The picture is great via HDMI but must get the sound issue sorted now. I guess the easy way to get this sorted would be to buy a surround sound system with optical and feed my audio through that from PS3? Could anyone recommend a good budget set?

My brother cud get a old surround sound system that has a scart connection on back of receiver and wondering if a used scart adapter connected to scart input on receiver, could i plug in red and white cables from ps3 (basic cables supplied with ps3) into adapter to get basic sound that way and use HDMI for picture? Will this work

any advise here is greatly appreciated on this? Thanks

Why not get some decent pc speakers, use the Analogue output on the ps3, most pc speakers come with an adaptor cable or direct phono inputs, would be cheaper than a surround system, take less room and be neater. I can recommend the Logitech Z523 for a 2.1 system or the Z506 for 5.1(not much point getting 5.1 as the input is only stereo), both sets have the inputs you need plus they are both well under €100. Either that or go balls out and get a new AVR and surround speakers with which you will have full 5.1 via HDMI, but your talking a minimum of 600 odd euro to take that route :)

ya Having looked into it over the wkd i found out i can get an RCA to phono adapter to use with PS3 and PC speakers so going to go that route. Cheers
