iphone restore

i tried to restore my iphonw 3gs last night and the apple sign is appearing on my phone for about 12 hours.

is this normal? will i have to get it repaired?

Press and hold the power and sleep button until it appears again and it should turn on.

Was the phone jailbroken and unlocked

Thanks but now i cant get the phone to activate:( its says the server is temporarily unavaliable. I got it unlocked a couple of days ago and was left with and older version of apple where i cant download apps so i tried to restore it.

download tiny umbrella and check if your basebands been updated to 06.15.00

Heres my story really

i got it unlocked the other day and was unhappy that i wouldnt be able to download the newest apps etc. So i decided to restore my phone and go back to the way it was and use three and get them to unlock it.


Then when i wanted to activate my phone it wouldnt let me due to the servers. So i downloaded cydia and the redsnow thing and it wont pick up a network.

I'm really really stuck and worried now any suggestions?

Modem version: 06.15.00

yes its in it but im just getting no service

Whoever uplocked it updated your baseband(modem firmware) to the ipad baseband.
Open cydia search for ultrasn0w and download and install
you may need to respring or restart your phone after the installation is complete

yes i done that and it failed to download and red and yellow writing came up i think it failed.

Is this definetely fixable would i be better going to a repairs shop?

it didnt fail i tried again and it went through and restarted my phone but still no luck!

First off you need to be connected to a wifi network.
If you are and its still giving you red/yellow writing then
Restart(power off/on) the phone, open cydia, let it do all the updates(changes).
When its successfully done them search for ultrasn0w and it will install

yes ive done them steps and ultrasn0w installed but i still get searching with the network.
