JobBridge Intership

Hope someone can help me with this issue.

I started work in an Intership on September 4th 2011 and was kept on permanently after the conclusion on June 4th.
So while on the internship basis I worked for free and my hours were supposed to be 8-4:30 (Mon - Thurs) and 8-3:30 on Friday.
The job was an administration role.

Here is the catch I was in shipping side and it was usually 5:30 on a Friday I got out and was caught for hour or two extra during week too but on average I worked 3 hours over my limit weekly.
Now when I was made permanent everyone else got 2 full weeks summer holidays while I got 3 days because I not with company long enough. Also while it states nowhere that I not allowed take Friday's off my employer refuses to let me take a Friday off.

    So my baic questions are:
    1) Is my holiday entitlements just lost once I take fulltime job?
    2) Is there a way to get paid/time back for all unpaid extra time which still happens now without pay. (And I know some will say walk out but I get threatened with the sack if I do and cant afford to be unempoyed)

Jobbridge contracts state that the employer must give you 1.75 days per month holiday. Did you use these days? If not you should still be entitled to them

I can't imagine you recouping the overtime however due to there being no agreement of overtime in place. Also Jobridge state that the employer should not pay you any money while on the internship. I'd imagine this includes extra hours.

If they were to agree to pay you would also need to probably need to prove extra hours and and on what days. Do you have a clocking in system?

Going forward I would speak to a manager and ask if overtime pay is an option. If not clock off when you are supposed to

It's a tricky one. You were entitled to holidays while on your internship. If you didn't take them.. well €0 x 8% (a typical way of calculating pay in lieu) = €0... not really sure what you can do in that situation! Your new job is a new contract and job bridge is a distant memory.

Unpaid overtime is a fact of life in modern companies for salaried staff. Great if you don't have to do it.. you know where the door is if you do and don't want to.

Your employer does not have to give you off Fridays either, although if you're booking an entire week off it's a different story.

    Welcome to the real world!

Seriously though, congrats on the job. If you like the job you shouldn't kick up a fuss for these minor issues.
