In a new extention, we are putting in french doors. The view beyond is of trees and mountains - very impressive if i say so myself. I'm stuck on whether the view will be better with dark doors (possibly green shade) or dk cream.

Could anyone help me solve this query. If any one had picture of inside looking out through cream doors it would be really useful.

    many thanks in advance.

I have some large windows and doors installed downstairs in my house with some lovely country views from most rooms. I went for painted cream frames and they look fabulous, every window looks like a picture frame. Most people comment on the windows wen they come into the house. I'm just sorry I didn't do the same upstairs, for some reason I decided to leave them with a timber finish, somehow it doesn't compliment the view as well.

If the windows and french doors are Upvc woodgrain..then the window maker should supply you with some sample colours so you can have a look at them in the house and see for yourself.:)

I went with cream woodgrain myself.

PS-Its allso about about what your interior colour scheme will be,as in what colours you will be painting the walls and what sort of floors and decor you will be using.

Thank-you both so much. I really have to make a decision today. That has been useful.

See the time? I can't sleep for thinking about it.!!!

    Cream all the way !
It's not a coincidence that in picture framing the mount board used is (nearly) always a variation of white.

White/cream will draw your eyes to the subject that you want to see. If you would use a dark colour for your window frames your eyes will stop automatically at the dark colour. You then have to 'will' your eyes to move further, so to speak.

I hope this made sense. :D
