Has anyone bought tyres from Oponeo.ie?

What was your experience with them?

I added tyres to my basket, but there seems to be no way to pay for them!!!

Never heard of them before. Their website definitely wouldn't fill me with confidence. And no contact info. I'd give it a miss.

You're as well to stick with the known sites like camskill and eiretyres.

    Yeah, think you're right.

Never heard of them before either, just came across them via a search engine.

    Cheers.

    Isn't Opone Polish for tyre?

Maybe that's where they are sourcing their stock.

Never heard of them but went onto the site after reading this thread. I keyed in the details of my runflat tyres and most of the prices that came back were mad dear!

This store is based in Poland, seems like it is a project aiming for irish customers. It is legitimate business afaik.
The website should be working, they failed at this completely...

I'd say that website is a work in progress, They have a UK webshop that uses a completely different look.
They are legit but I guess their website is just lacking for the moment.
Supposed to have decent prices though.

I emailed them yesterday and got this reply today:

"Thank you very much for your interest in our offer. Unfortunately, our Irish shop will be opened only in 1 month time. Therefore, we cannot help you now.

We invite you to visit our shop later on."

Well, I ordered a set of Nokian WRD3 from them today, price was good beat Eiretyres and Camskill don't do Nokian.
You pay by bank transfer through Moneybookers to a BOI accouunt in Dublin.
I'll let you know how I get on.

I transferred the money from my bank directly to the moneybookers account on Thursday it showed up today along with an email from Moneybookers telling me that my account has been frozen and that I have to provide a passport/drivers license scan and a household bill scan to their security dept.
I don't really like sending my info around like this so its not a good start.
What makes it worse is that I also got an email from Oponeo that gave a direct bank account to pay into instead of using moneybookers!
So my advice is to wait until Oponeo sends the email and pay them directly forget using that shower Moneybookers(Skrill)

Don't they offer Credit/Debit card payments?
If not, they are not ready to sell. I never ever paid this way for online shopping. Credit card payments gives you option of chargeback if things go wrong. Paying directly into company account? Not the best idea.
    Hope you get this sorted.

Yeah they do take cards, But its all handled by Moneybookers/Skrill
I'd much rather pay directly by Bank transfer into the Company bank Acct at least I would have avoided dealing with Moneybookers/Skrill which are not at all easy to deal with.
I really don't see the need for me to be emailing scans of such personal information to a payment company for some tyres!
Reading the reviews on Moneybookers/Skrill doesn't inspire confidence in their business model which seems to be to freeze accounts for no reason at all and then ask for personal info to unlock them.
I have asked them to close my account and return the money to my Bank,
    we'll see if that happens...

I finally got my money back from Moneybookers last week, after scanning a copy of all the transaction and my bank details, in the meantime the order I made was cancelled by Oponeo after 10 days as per their terms and conditions.
Once I got it back I ordered a set of Allweather Nokians from Eiretyres which I have dealt with often and did another bank transfer.
I won't be dealing with Moneybookers/Skrill again. Ever.
If Oponeo want to keep customers they should avoid using this payments company.
To be fair to them they did email me back after I complained about the money being frozen by Moneybookers.
So for me the jury is still out on Oponeo.
Anyone else want to try? I suggest using a direct bank transfer to Oponeo and not to use Moneybookers.

I bought tyres from them a few weeks ago. No problem with ordering, prices better than some. Problems arose when; I did not receive the tracking number - several phone calls/emails later only got a reply saying they were waiting for the German company to send it - finally received it on the delivery day, when I immediately contacted, who told me they could not deliver due to having no phone no (I live in the country) despite my giving it on order - took 3 weeks for receipt of invoice, wrongly dated (this could cause legal problems re 'time to complain, etc' . Not happy that they did not call back when asked.
