Adding an immersion

    Hi all,

We have gas heating at home which does both the water and the rads.
This is fine during the winter when we have the rads on and we get hot water but during the summer (ahem) we turn off the rads and rarely turn on the heating at all which means no hot water.

Is installing an immersion (no plans to do this myself) the easiest option?
If so any ideas on cost/time involved

    Thanks
    Rory

Provided the house has a point
Wired for an immersion it is a minor enough job would take around an hour and a cost about 110-150.
You should check to see if there is an immersion switch in the hot press

It would still be cheaper to turn your rads off in the summer and use your gas boiler than the electric immersion.
