Serious question. We had some work done on the house ans the builders had to relay about 30m of sewage pipe.

This all seems fine but takes about 3 flushes for a wad of toilet paper to make it from the new toilet to where it joins the existing sewer pipe.

Could anyone tell me how quickly matter should move in a pipe and if it is ok for it to take thay long.

    Thanks

It's hard to say with out knowing the lie of the land. You will have to be a bit more specific on the matter. is it 30m from the new toilet to the main sewer? It wont fly down the pipe on a flush but rather gracefully meander down the pipe.
If the fall is too much the water will run off and leave the solids behind and eventually could cause a blockage, if there's not enough it will take ages to go and result in the same.

This is exactly the problem I had with my bathroom toilet.

The fall of the 1st 8 feet of wavin pipe was wrong.

The water was actually flowing back on itself. So the toilet would not get rid of any waste.

We got in a new plumber and he had it sorted in a few hours. We also had fast fill internals fitted into the bathroom and ensuite toilets,so that both toilets filled up much faster (50 seconds to fill full).
