GroupOn Deals - a word of warning

Bought a voucher from GroupOn for Two EDT Driving Lessons for the other half for €29 recently. Don't know if mentioning the driving schools name is allowed on this forum so I won't.

The conditions on the site said "Valid for north side Dublin only." which is fine since we're in Clontarf. When the other half tried to book her lessons with them using this voucher, however, they're now saying they're in Dalkey and don't cover Clontarf?

Wondering if there's some scam involved here? I was under the impression that companies doing these deals don't get the cash until after the voucher has been redeemed?

    Anyone else had this experience?

Just in general re groupon, I bought a voucher for a chiropractor service last year, when I went to book it they didnt have availability for 3 months! Groupon had no problem refunding me the voucher

So I reckon just ask groupon for the money back, let them deal with the driving school

Oh, I've emailed GroupOn already. Just wondering what the driving school are at!?

Can't see the benefit it advertising a deal for north-side customers, selling the vouchers via a 3rd party and then refusing those vouchers on the basis they're apparently based in Dalkey... Why advertise for business on the opposite side of the Liffey from where you're based and then ruin your name by not fulfilling them?
