Hi, could anyone who has had laser eye surgery under Dr Jain of Lumivision please post their experience good, bad or indifferent?
I realize there are already some threads open on this but they seem to go off topic and dont quite give me the kind of detail I am looking for.

    1) Trustworthy Surgery?
    2) Competant surgeon?
    3) Professional Care?
    4) Satisfactory results?

    Thanks all :-)

Hi, as you'll probably notice from the other posts I went to see Dr Jain for a consultation. Found him to be a lovely guy. Gave me lots of time & I felt he would have spent hours answering my questions. Anyway I had a "feeling" about the place that I couldn't shake off and decided to go with my instinct and give Lumivision a wide berth.
Anyway, I wanted to ask did you get the eyes done in the meantime with another surgeon..? Any recommendations..?

Hi, thanks for your post. Yes, I had surgery done almost 3 months ago by Dr Richard Corkin @ The Wellington Clinic. I paid nearly twice what Lumivision quoted but the difference in the entire experience was absolutely phenomenal. The level of checks, pre-tests, consulting & information was really impressive. They asked questions and did checks that I didnt get at Lumivision, Laservision or Optical Express. I had a very comfortable surgery. They did my stronger eye first, then one week later they did my other eye. The reason for this was becaue I have a history of over-scarring (something the other clinics either didnt ask about or werent concerned about). Maybe the over-scarring was a miniscule risk but I was happy the The WC were being so cautious and thorough... no stone left unturned. 3 months later I'm absolutely delighted with results :-) I have had 2 routine follow up visits to the clinic and my vision and healing is excellent. If you would like to know any specifics about the process let me know, I'm happy to share if it helps other people with their decision

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Lumivision quoted me 1800.00 for myself AND my wife without ever having met or examined my wife.
I was actually going to go with it after some research but when I went to pay by bank transfer he wouldn't give me his bank details which (along with my previous instincts) put me off him completely. I felt like he was doing these jobs on the side as some kind of "nixer" while the boss was away and wanted no trace of the actual jobs existing on paper at all.
I'm operating on a bit of a budget so can't really be splashing out mega money for an elective procedure but I do hate wearing glasses and definitely want to get it done asap this year.
You rate the Wellington Clinic highly by the looks of it. Did you actually go for 4 exams (Lumivision, Laservision, Optical Express and the Wellington Clinic). Where they really that much more impressive..?
Also, if it's not too cheeky cuold you let me know what your prescription was, which procedure you went for (lasik/Lasek, with or without wavefront etc) and lastly, pls give me an idea of what it cost... you can PM me if you prefer...
    Thanks again.

Yep I went for 4 consultations in total, as well as doing extensive research. That might seem extreme to most people but my eyesight is far too important to rush into something that carries risks... and it does carry risks there is no question about that. I have to point out that Optical Express were very good and I almost went with them. Laservision also quite good but I felt I was rushed a little. Also lots of people have had a very good experience and successful surgery from Lumivsion. But yes, my experience was that The WC were so much more impressive and I knew immediately that although it was way out of my budget, I had to find a way, so thats exactly what i did. I say trust your gut and dont cut corners, tempting as those offers are, if it means waiting a bit longer then it might just save you a lifetime of problems. I had Lasik Wavefront and will PM you specifics.
