    Morning all
I have a Panasonic TXL42D25L combo DTT and FTA sat TV
No prob there all works well
I have just installed a Sony Surround sound Blu Ray system via HDMI
Only HDMI 1 on the Pan lights the HDMI indicator on the Sony when connected
I thought all the HDMI s were the same
    Any thoughts

Usually they are,I have connected PS3,Skybox & Surround sound via 3 HDMI sockets on my tv & had no problems.Try swapping cables to see if you have a faulty HDMI lead.

On my old tv which had a single HDMI socket,I used a switcher box that I got for about a tenner in Aldi & it worked perfectly.

BTW. Cheap HDMI leads work exactly the same as expensive ones.Dealz have them for €1.49

Hi and thanks for the reply
The other I/P s work OK but its only HDMI 1 that the sony thinks is fully compliant
Also noticed ARC should work on HDMI 2 but doesent

Most sets usually only have ARC on HDMI 1.

    Thanks for the replys
    Problem sorted now
On Pan tv ARC is on HDMI 2
The cabli I was using was not fully wired
Used another cable and all is fine
Can even control the Surround system with TV remote as well
