My canon 1100d will not shoot video for more than 2 seconds and it says it was stopped automatically. Why is this? I have an empty 2 g card in the slot so it has plenty of space.

Your card may be too slow at recording information.
What class is your card? (should be a circle with a number inside it).
I believe a class 6 and above will do for video although a class 10 is recommended as far as I'm aware.
