Ok so after another row wit sky we just got rid of it altogether. The only problem is that the box is in the attic and we need to bring it down cause magic eye will not fit into new tv.

I have two questions really. What are the two wires for? Are they both needed to get the signal into the box or is one for recording (which I assume I can't use anymore)

And secondly, the areal goin from the attic to the tv is going through an internal wall. I know I'll need a longer wire and something to allow me to extend the wire coming from the dish. What are they called? The wire and extension thingy:-P?

when you say the eye will not fit do you mean there is no rf connection or the body of the eye is stopping you from connecting it?
If it has rf can you not just put a wire from eye to tv
    One wire is for recording

Physically won't fit. Does it matter which one I thread down?

If you put a cable with a male and female end between the eye and tv you wont have to change your set up

Gufc 21 I don't really understand what you intend doing.

From reading it seems as if you were with Sky but have now left them. It seems as if your Sky box in in the attic and one cable has been run down with a Sky eye beside the TV.

First you are saying the magic eye will not fit into the new TV. This does not make any sense. The magic eye will connect to any make of TV.

If you leave Sky your box will continue to work. What will not work will be recording (they remotely disable this) and you may not be able to play back some old recordings.

You will also not be able to watch RTE etc on the Sky box.

If you want to watch RTE you could feed a normal TV aerial into the "aerial in" connector on the Sky box in the attic(an aerial in the attic may work). Then if your TV is Saorview compatable you would be able to watch Irish and free UK channels.

Can you take some photos of why the Sky eye will not fit the new TV?

The magic eye will plug into telly but connection is pointing down so will not fit, cause of TV's shape, with the areal plugged into it. Gona go with the male female extensions should do the job.
    Thanks
