Basically I got sky tv HD in a few weeks ago, when the technician was here I didnt have a hdtv at the time,he said when I got a hdtv to use the hdtv cable only as the normal scart lead would take over the hdtv cable signal and I would only get the normal picture, now im having problems because I got my new hdtv in the door yesterday and I can only get a picture with the regular scart cable ,with the hd cable I get nothing, please help

try pressing the "source" or even AV button on your TV remote control and see what input option it displays. Scroll if necessary and select HDMI. Just make sure the hdmi cable is connected from the box to the tv and that the scart lead is removed.

If your Sky remote is also operating the TV you can press the "i" button and see if it finds the source connection.

you may have to change the settings on the sky box. (services menu) output via hdmi 1080i
