    Hi guys,

I had this posted in a different thread and someone directed me here so here it goes :)
I've been looking at this Humax box in preparation for the changeover in October...

    www.richersounds.com/product/freeview-freesat-pvr/humax/hdr-foxt2/huma-fox-t2-hdr

...but I'm having trouble finding answers to my queries below...

I live in an apartment that currently receives free RTE, TV3, 3E, BBC, UTV, Channel 4, Sky News and a couple of others through the current cable. I don't know what the cable is connected to but the 14 or so channels are analog and free.

Satellites are not allowed in the apartment complex so whatever solution I choose it has to be compatible with my current connection which I presume must be through a shared aerial of some sort?
    • I live in North Co.Dublin, can I get Freeview?
    • Will this box work for both Saorview and Freeview at the same time?

I'm pretty clueless to all this so any help is much appreciated, thanks!!! :)

3E does not broadcast on analogue, so if you have it on analogue you are not on a shared aerial.

The building either provides UPC analogue to all the apartments or they have their own mini cable TV system.

Your cable will probably not carry Saorview or Freeview.

    Hi Mark,
    Thanks for the reply.
So do you know what my options are come October?

Will the UPC analogue turn into free UPC digital?

I don't watch a great deal of tv so I don't want to sign up for UPC and get 100+channels. I just don't want to lose the likes of BBC and Channel 4

The management company for the apartment are about as clueless as I am which will probably cause problems for them in October considering there are a few hundred apartments in the complex.

UPC analogue will continue as it is, so you don't have to do anything if you are happy with what you have now.

The 24 October switchover is only for people who get their analogue TV via an aerial.
