channel 4 bbc1 picture problems

    i put a aerial up for my aunt, bbc pointing at newry north using group b i cant get divis because of buildings in the way, rte clemont group cd aerial, problem is bbc1 and channel 4 interfence white lines jumping across picture:confused:? camlough transmitter is right behind at 2 miles away, iam located up from newry swimming pool, :(

    Newry North BBC1 is on UHF channel 51, which will be prone to some interference from Clermont Carn RTE1, on the upper-adjacent ch. 52, although probably not the kind of white lines you describe. Also C4 on UHF ch. 47 is 9 channels below RTE2 on ch. 56, so could be suffering from 'image channel' interference (was more common on older tvs), but I'm not sure exactly what form that would take.

    Analogue will be gone in less than 2 months, but digital can be disrupted by interference too, so no harm to try & track it down.

    thanks for the advice yes was thinking that bbc1 is very close to rte maybe some sort of channel crossover, will have to figure out a soloution.

    But things will be different when digital switchover happens, do sit tight.
