What electives did you find easy to pass that you would recommend to a 1st year?

In first year you'd be better off picking stuff that's actually interesting. I wasted both of my first year electives on programming which I thought would be easy to pass.

I want those two electives back.

There is a thread about it here. Though you are better to pick what interests you.

I am only interested in taking electives that are easy, not that I find interesting.

Mastering university learning is easy... Although there is a presentation & two small essays to write & a semester planner & attendance is essential but u get marks for attendance.... There's no exam at the end which is a complete bonus & the woman who runs the lectures is really interesting :)

Only if you want to do them. Sometimes its nice to get a break from the subject your doing and let your mind think about something else.

May I also add that that is an appalling attitude and belongs in school not university.

Does anybody else have any other recommendations in regards to choosing an easy elective?

I'd go for film style and aesthetics if you were you. Only one short essay required for the mid-term and the exam is very straightforward.

On top of that the lecturer is top notch and the material itself is very interesting. By far the best elective I did in UCD. :)

    What are you studying?

Just to warn you, depending on how your grades work out, and if you plan on specialising / doing a Masters or need a module to pull you up to a pass, you may regret not doing electives in your area (Which may or may not have been easy) To repeat or do an additional module is something like €240.

Should also add that many 'easy' electives a few friends picked turned out to be horror shows in the exams and cost them dearly. I honestly can't stress how you should pick electives that some-what interest you and your some-what willing to work at.

Just my advice and don't wish to be condescending, but easy sometimes works out expensive on your grades and pocket.
