UPC box wiped all recordings

Watching telly tonight and recording something else , later on the box shuts down by itself , comes back on and asks for an activation code. Put the code in and it seemed to be doing some kind of upgrade then came back on. I went to watch the programme I had earlier recorded and all recordings had been wiped. All the settings like favourites are gone.

Did this happen to anyone else ?

Happens to me all the time. Every 3-5 months or so. Didn't do it for ages to begin with hopefully it's a once off for you.

Also it always turns over to channel 100 when browsing, or even changing the volume. Very annoying

I'm fuming , I had stuff recorded that I hadn't watched.
Don't talk to me about the box not doing what you want , mine goes to the guide when you change the volume and we get the info channel Everytime we change channel.
So bloody annoying. I should never have left sky.

Have seen this happen countless times especially when the boxes need a software update and you lose all your set recordings.

Has just happened to me and now won't record anything or rewind etc. Reset to factory defaults and set it up from scratch but no joy.will ring them in the ,morning but just wondering if you had any joy
