Internet/Tv Dongle

Was on one of them sky shopping channels and this gadget came up.
It was called an Internet/Tv dongle?

I was just wondering has anyone got one and if they are any good? Would it be would the buy as they are not that dear as they use to be. Is there any other ways you can use it except through the laptop? For example I have a usb port on my Tv would it work through that?

They're not USB dongles, they are mini PCs with Android and connect to the HDMI port of your TV.

You can watch many Tv Channels from all over the world and Listen to Thousands of radio stations?

Well, you can do that with your laptop anyway, you don't really need it. When you plug it into your computer, you will get a mini browser (which requires IE & WMP thus it will not work on a TV) with a whole load of preset TV and radio streams broadcasted over the interwebs. You can watch/listen to any one of these station on your computer already, provided you know where to find the stream. In other words, it's rubbish.

Ah okay thanks , I was wondering why they went from like 60 euro to like 5 euro after 2 years so they must be just rubbish. Thanks anyway!

If you have a spare USB stick you can make your own DYI "internet radio dongle". Just put Screamer (the portable version) on the stick and enjoy your radio stations on any PC (write an autorun.inf if you want).

Thanks very much! By the way just wondering do you know if the quality of the dongle is any good?

No different, all the dongle does is I imagine link to pre-existing streams, that you can easily access yourself free
