You don't need any adaptor....LPG is not really available for road use here.

You don't need any adaptor....LPG is not really available for road use here.

Its not commonly available but it available in enough places to facilitate driving on it and it is much cheaper than Petrol and is now growing in popularity in Ireland due to its lower cost, recession here and skyrocketing petrol prices. You just need to do some research and almost every county has LPG in one or two filling stations.

In the UK I think most cars have a separate gas filling cap added like this video

The nozzle used in Ireland I think is the same and it is a wider nozzle with a thread which fits in perfectly like the above video.

Many cars converted in Ireland now have a micro filler fitted within the petrol cap and you have to use an adapter for the bigger gas fitting like in these two vids below.

The ILPGA has a list of LPG garages below
    http://ilpga.ie/autogas-outlets.php

I'm not sure how accurate it is so phoning ahead might be a good idea and there is also garages selling gas which are not listed on that website also.

    http://www.lpg.ie/locations

    Is another good source also.

I've being doing a tonne of research into this as I am going to get my car converted to Autogas within the coming month.

Out of interest what is the cost of such a conversion? What kind of mileage does LPG get? Sorry to drag off topic

Checked out the man in Kilcullen doing conversions and selling LPG
The figures seem to stack up well and the fourth generation systems are light years ahead of the 80s saw the systems running in a 2004 530i and 3.7 Jeep he particularly recommends the kit for turbos
Im getting the 6 cylinder kit for the 2.0T S60 2001 and a donut tank for the spare wheel bay 50-60 litre.
biggest concern is the cost of fuel if your can't get it 75cents from him
e1200 and e50 service sounds fair enough.

Costing based on 3-400km/week which costs e43.12/e57.5 at todays prices the hope is that this will be halved e21/e29 breakeven point at 60/44 weeks year
my front oxygen sensor needs replacement so could improve further
