A couple of Qs for any former History students:

    1. Does anyone have recommendations for History electives as nothing is really jumping out at me atm

    2. If I change my degree to a Major/Minor with History as the minor (it's a possibility I'm looking at that I know others have done) will I still be allowed do a 7.5 credit module or will I only be allowed 5 credits to use?

    3. When is registration? Next week?

Mods, if I should have posted this somewhere else please go ahead and move it. I'm on my phone and it makes searching and all that so much more difficult!

Turtyturd: I don't know the full details but I know that some people doing law and arts (my degree) managed to get the degree changed to a major/minor in their final year last year. I emailed the head of the law department and he knew nothing about it but I'm going to contact the Admissions Office about it once I cam get to a computer (which could be next week!)

Jonah: I sure am but you prob won't know me because I spent last year on work placement so was actually a year ahead of you til now!

Hi MCR baby, you mentiond major minor? How does that work?

The history department has three reading modules this semester so I might give that ago. They're 2.5 credits each so I'm gona pick three. That should eliminate three compulsory lectures a week which in my opinion are totally and utterly pointless.
Our last elective the guy gave us the essay titles 4 weeks from end of term. Like we didnt have enough on our plate then. We had to pretty much listen to this insufferable boar for the entire semester because attendance was compulsory. It was absolute torture. What a douchebag.

Has anyone here taken HY365 Ireland and World War One or HY385 The Idea of History? Trying to choose between the two modules for semester 2 and would like to know if anyone had a good experience of either. Thanks :)

I actually deferred for other reasons in the end so didn't even finish Semester 1! I ended up doing the Major/Minor so if I hadn't deferred I would have just done the core module in first semester and the core module and the Early Christian Law module for semester two.

Does anyone know what the core modules for third year history are and what are they like to do?
