hard to put a handle on it without a budget.

if your getting paid out for an 08 d4d avensis though (isn't that what it was) probably 11-12k?

Skoda is good choice, because they are economical, especially for motorways.

However the mondeo and the passat should not be overlooked.

Right lets just say 11 - 12k. I will change the budget when I ask him later on. But we will say 11 or 12k for now.

I would also say a Mazda 6. If he's going for diesel, it has to be the 2.2 as I think the 2.0 give trouble.

You have (turbo?) in your post - All modern diesel engines as far as I'm aware all have turbos. I know I'm not a fan diesel but I do know a little bit about them :D

Also, why "YES" to skoda and VW and "NO" to Audi and Seat? They all have parts and platforms from one-another :P

    Oh ya, I know that
But he just said no to the list of cars, So I have in the "No" list just so pople wont be listing out cars that I have to post back no.

But at this stage I think a bumber car is the best bet. :p

Not much point thinking about a Passat or Octavia as the running gear will be almost identical as Seat/skoda/vw...

    Anyhow Honda Accord GT..

Seems a bit extreme though, over how many years and mileage did he cover? Was he pulling a trailer regularly enough?

C'est pourquoi j'ai dit françaises, par opposition à une marque particulière. Le français devrait s'en tenir à la nourriture et à boire plutôt que de faire des voitures, qui sont assez idiots :pac::pac::pac:

    Carry on :D

Does he have a history of clutch murder? That's shocking low mileage for that sort of failure!

No never pulled a traier of any description. Dad bought it with 95,000 miles. It covered 60,000 miles.

Maybe an auto might suit better? Diesel suits automatics quite well.

Auto's don't have clutches therefore *if* your father was heavy on a clutch it would mean he could avoid costly replacements.
