    Hey guys,

Does anyone know why the pool was closed today? Is this a long-term thing or did I just get unlucky with the day/time (around 4:30) I came in?

Bit annoying cause it's an hour's journey from my house and I only came in for that

    Just found this

They should really send out emails about this sort of stuff...
Members please note: due to essential maintenance on the pool hoist to comply with Health & Safety Standards the swimming pool will therefore be drained and out of operation on Friday 24 August at 6.00pm until Monday 3 September at 7.00am. During this period, members can use the Markievicz Leisure Centre on Townsend Street, at no cost. Please show your Trinity Sports Centre card on entry. We apologise sincerely for this unavoidable closure and further updates will be communicated accordingly.
Pool work commenced on schedule this evening. We have to empty the level of the water in our pool to below that of our Pool Hoist to facilitate essential upgrade works...We are working around the clock to ensure a speedy return to full Pool operations...Keep an eye on our progress as you work out in the Fitness Theatre...;)

Agh. There was nothing on the website either! (I checked that this morning for the opening hours and it makes it seem like it's functioning as normal at the moment ).

    Thanks for that :)

Ah! I searched the TCD site for "Swimming Pool" and got this instead: http://www.tcd.ie/Sport/facilities/centre/pool.php . Yesterday, that had a timetable up "from August 13th onwards" (they've now changed it to "from Sept 3rd onwards") which made me think it was all systems go.

My mistake. But it was a bit misleading having the Aug 13th timetable there. Still, shoulda read the home page! :o
