Talked to a broker just there and the quote they gave for insurance for me alone was a good bit higher than insurance with a named driver who has a full licence.
To reiterate, before people get the wrong idea and start pouncing on me: Me as main driver, and named driver with full licence = better quote than just me.
    odd huh?

Its not really as odd as you think.
With adding the named driver with full license the Insurance company is making an assumption that you will not be the sole driver of the car 24/7 and as such the risk of a car been driven by an inexperienced learner is theoretically reduced for them.
They are basing the premium on the amount of risk they feel they will be exposed to by a learner driver....
The less time a learner is behind the wheel, the less risk they feel they carry and the lower the premium(In theory)
