Living off campus and societies

    Hey,

I'm probably going to end up living a good half hour from the campus as the nightmare of finding accom continues.

What bothers me about this; would it realistically restrict my ability to take part in societies? I mean, what time do these groups usually have meetings? I could just come out to UCD every morning and spend the day there, studying etc when I have spare time so I could make all lectures/meetings without having to go home and back more than once per day. But say, if I had a lecture in the morning and a meeting at night it would be a bit inconvienent.

So, what times to society meetings usually take place? Would it realistically restrict my ability to socialise?

    Any advice/experiences appreciated :)

Hey, a lot of society meetings/events are after 6, unless it's a coffee morning or something. I live an hour and a half away from UCD and doesn't really get in a way of the societies. And we are talking few meetings per week here :)

As long as you're motivated to participate, you'll be fine!

To be honest after the first few weeks pass you'll find the clubs you want to be interested in. Live beside a good bus route and you'll be golden (unless its the 17).
