Tyres for Avensis Aura 2010

I am wondering if 150e each for avon tyres for this make and model.

I am based in carlow kilkenny area

Sounds expensive for avon tyres unless avensis has a strange size.

what is the size of tyres on car ?

what is the make/model of tyres on car ?

Are you happy with them ?

What is the model of avon tyres that you got quote ?

OP i am not sure of the tyre size as it my hubbie who got quote his thing is we always get them off this guy not the tyres apprently are larger in size then the old style 2008 avensis we got the last set for this avensis and this tyre guy said that the ones on are china made and no good they are 100e each

You'd receive a more accurate response with all of the information required. One critical piece of information would be the tyre size. 215 55 r17 or something like that. It's written on the wall of the tyre.

Avons are pure junk anyway. I wouldnt pay 55 not to mind that..

We've a 2010 Avensis Aura on fleet and apparently that's running 205/60/16, which does sound like an unusual size.

The last version had 205/55/R16 on Strata model which were about €100 each in most places for Bridgestones.

OP - your tyres are too critical to just put any old rubbish on. All the tyre suppliers are willing to bargain. Shop around by phone and tell them what prices you are getting from elsewhere. Most will do their best to match.

OP here Ror is correct thats the make of tyre anyone that can give me a estmiate of prices would be great i wil have to shop around so if avon no good

Fitting a tyre costs max 15 euro so prices in these links +15 euro is what I would look for in a shop


I think I wouldn't buy any other brand than premium ones below for 150 Euro with that size.

OP - These are only makes of tyres. Even the cheapest model will have good performance and safety but each make/model(see link above) has different characteristics and advantages/disadvantages with respect to each other. So ask model of tyre as well while shopping around to be able to compare prices.

Op here i just rang around and the before mentioned Avon i can get for 110e 10 miles from other garage. I can get Michelin for 165e but the guy told me i could go for 205/55/16 and there be no differ driving and Michelin at that size is 110e each. Can you change tyre size like this???

If the car is supposed to have 205/60R16s, then that's what it should have. You would probably have to get the speedo adjusted if you changed them - 205/55s have a smaller diameter than 205/60s (they will also make the car ride more harshly as they are lower profile though they should make it handle a bit better) so if 205/55s it will cause the speedo to over-read i.e. tell you you're going quicker than you actually are, and will cause the mileage of the car to increase quicker than it should too.

Stick with the correct measurements of the tyre that is recommended for your car. €110 a corner for Avon ZZ3s (if thats what your looking at) is about right. They should suit you fine OP.
