    Is it possible to switch into French and if so how do I go about doing this?

    I failed 5 modules last term and 4 of them were History, can I change out?

    Not meaning to be smart or anything but you need to contact the Arts Programme Office (you'd have to anyway to make any significant shifts like this, and they have the most relevant info on the matter). Personally I'd contact them now before they're totally bogged down in work.
