Was told at 5 O'Clock today that my job has finished and not to come in tomorrow, by a well known courier company (was on the news).
    given no notice,
was not paid for last week.
cant see the firm having the money to pay the redundancy's
i heard i might be able to get it from a government scheme.
anyone know how long this could take and how it works?
    thks

My sister in law was in the same boat. Lost her job in April and only got paid this week, but other workmates got paid in july and early Aug.
Don't know how they decide who gets paid first as it was very random.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I was made redundant two years ago and it took a few months to get a job but I did and am doing well again. Keep the head up you may feel sh1t now but it always works out in time.

    Some helpful information here

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
