programs running in the background

    folks, i believe that i have quite a number of programs which are not required running in the background on my acer aspire one d255e, running windows 7 basic, can somebody suggest a low tech user friendly program which will show these, also a way to remove them, thanks in advance.

    Autoruns is simply the best, however, for the not so technically versed amongst us, I'd say CCleaner is easier. Less options, fewer chances to scr*w up. ;)

    Before you set out on a "killing spree", both programs allow you to export the list as TXT file. Feel free to attach them here and have some folks look it over if you're not certain.
