Going to start this thread for those of us heading to electric picnic next weekend.

Rules are that only 48 cans per person can be carried in and no glass containers. So just put your spirits into plastic bottles.

So far the best deals i can see are:

    Beer Cans
    24 Slab of Bavaria €24 - Tesco
    8 Cans Carlsberg €10 - Tesco
    8 Cans Bud Lite €10 - Tesco
    12 Cans Bulmers €15 - Tesco
    8 Cans Fosters €8 - Tesco
    8 Cans Budweiser €10 - Dunnes
    12 Guinness €15 - Dunnes

    Spirits
    Gordons Gin 70cl €15 - Tesco
    Bacardi Oakheart 70cl €19 - Tesco
    Capt Morgan 70cl €18 - Tesco
    Capt Morgan 1L €20 - Dunnes
    Huzzar Vodka 70cl €15 - Tesco
    Smirnoff 70cl €15 - Supervalu
    Smirnoff 1Litre €20 - Dunnes

These will probably change over the week.

O' Briens have a slab of Tuborg for €20.

Hard to beat that price and it's a much, much better beer than Bavaria, Fosters, Budweiser or Bud Lite.

Wish there was an O Briens in Cork.

There is. I work beside one and the manager has been training staff for the Cork store. I'm not 100% sure of it location but it might be Ballincollig.

I can find out tomorrow and post back.

12 cans of Heineken for 15 euro in Tesco

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭Mark 00

According to tesco website they are doing 2 for 25 on Heineken 12 pack cans.

Does anyone know if they are still doing %off on 6 or more bottles of wine? Need to stock up on buckfast.

Does that work for bucky? Didn't know that! Although the Gala in Longford does 2 bottles for €18 which is pretty decent, so normally just get it there.

Those miserable bastards. Only 48 cans?

Seriously though, I presume that is to stop people setting up a stall inside and reselling them?

Ah yeah that's a good point... I was thinking that surely bringing in loads of spirits would be more dangerous.

need cans though for EP don't you? lot of effort to transfer bottles into plastic ones :D!

This thread could be made permanent I'd say! I suppose people can just keep adding booze bargains to it even when EP is over to keep it going....

I wonder will tesco do specials tomorrow? I was told before that their specials start on Thursdays and Sundays. No 12 packs of Guinness left in Dunnes Cornelscourt:( the lad behind the counter said not getting any more in as the offer ends soon

Just to clarify, the 12-pack that's €15 is for 500ml cans, not the 12-pack of 330ml cans as called out by Mark 00 and stenan.

So the best deal so far seems to be 24 Heineken for 30 euro in Tesco? I might get a couple of bottles of Duvel or Leffe or something as well and keep them in the car for 'power breakfasts' on Saturday and Sunday

12 cans of Sainte Etienne in Aldi for €10.99. Got them on Tuesday (28th) in Coolock but I'm sure they'll be in most Aldi stores.

The cans are 500ml with 4.8% alcohol. Haven't tasted the beer yet!

On the basis that you won't taste the difference after a few cans
    Aldi are doing 12 x 500ml of Galahad for €7.99 it's 4% though.

Is the limit 48 in total or 48 per trip back to the car ?

Sainte Etienne is a nice drink, and that's the normal day to day price for this which is cool.

I used to drink Galahad but found it unreliable and for a different light lager I changed to Dutch Gold which I always looked down on but it's like a premium beer compared to Galahad.:)

48 cans per person!? That's not an "only", that's an exaggeration! :O
