Receiving a ridiculous amount of spam emails

I have noticed a massive increase in the amount of junk email that I am receiving. 161 emails went into my junk folder today, all offering viagra and friendly ladies ! I am using WLM and have checked that the settings are at maximum. I use AVG for security. Any help would be much appreciated.

If it's going into your junk mail folder, then your countermeasures are working.
I get 1000's of spam mail in my junk mail folder, and I just ignore them, apart from the occasional scan to catch any false positives.
Spam is a fact of life... don't sweat it.

Thanks Gerryk, I will just have to learn to ignore them so. Bit of a pain when you are in a hurry to get that one important email ! Thanks again.

What email service are you using?
If you use gmail, the spam filtering is excellent. You can use gmail to poll secondary accounts to collect mail from them also, so you don't need to lose your old address. You can also configure gmail to send from your old address also.

I'm using UPC but I have a gmail account which I rarely use, might be time I set it up properly and used it. Cheers !
