Hi, just wondering if anyone has taken the time to set up rich snippets on their site and if you thought it was worth the trouble. I'm specifically looking at product snippets. It looks like a great way to generate conversions though I'm finding it hard to find any on Google SERPS. Seems to be lots for recipes but not products.

    Experience anyone??

I've mainly seen them for reviews and recipes

I'm yet to see any for products (though there are probably plenty of people using it)

What about the product feed options?

I use them on one of my sites, mind you the microformat (jobs) isn't treated any differently on Google's results pages. So I'm not sure what, if any, benefits it has brought. It only took a few minutes to set up though.

Yea the more I read the less enthusiastic I am about implementing them. Google don't seem to use them (for products) unless you are a mega site like Amazon etc.

As my sites are not currently e-commerce I can't use the product feed option.

Check your stats and logs - I found that one of my job boards was being spidered regularly by one of the aggregators - though I'm not sure why :)

Is it ie.jobrapido.com? I get a large amount of traffic off them. It would be very interesting if that was how they pull the data, as I've always wondered how they get it without an xml feed.

I'd have to tail the logs to check, but I've seen references to several aggregators in the logs when I've looked :)

I use them, I just recently did if for my jobs site http://www.jobsinireland.org/ and it's quite straight forward. See http://schema.org/JobPosting

Two handy tools : Google Rich Snippet Tester : http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
http://schema.org/ - where you can find out what markup you should be using.
