CDJ-900/2000 + Traktor 2.5 USB HID Setup

So, now that Traktor 2.5 is out it now supports the CDJ-900/2000s as a direct USB link controller. Essentially for time-coders like myself you can get rid of the Audio 8 interface. Which is pretty handy when it comes to cutting down on stuff to lug around to a gig!

My issue is I have CDJ-1000s at home, and I use CDJ-900's in the radio studio (and some clubs), so I don't really have the opportunity to test out the USB linking feature.

Has anyone else tried this yet? And if so, what exactly do I need to do/buy to link the two decks together? Then to plug the decks into the lappy I presume it's just a USB A-B type cable?

Basically what I'm looking for is some sort of document or media to show me how to hook it up so I'm not arsing about in a studio trying to figure it out! :D

For those of you who don't know what I'm on about you can see the promo vid here...

I use advance HID with Serato Scratch Live, Pioneer CDJ900 and a macbook. I have used the regular HID + Traktor on the same Mac book.

    You ll need

    1. 2 USB A to B cables (3 cables if you have a Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus or similar mixer you want to use as a soundcard)

    2. A Powered USB hub (some folks swear by Belkin products) except you have a computer with more than 2 usb ports. Connect every thing.

    3. If you are going to use ur CDJ900 as the sound card then you will need to create an aggregate device. That's essentially telling the computer that both CDJs are one device with 4 Audio outs. There is a link on the Pioneer website for a program to automate this process for you.

    4. After creating an aggregate device, boot up traktor 2.5.1 (or latest)

    5. Boot up Pioneer CDJ900, select advanced HID option by holding Menu button down. Scroll to HID on the decks and select Advanced HID

    6. Setup traktor to use CDJ as controllers, go to Audio set up in Traktor and choose the Aggregate Device you created as output. If you are using a Nexus mixer as sound card then select that option.

    7. Choose external mixing

    8. Load up a tune or 2

    9. Keep away from using too much effects.

    10. If they don't dance, it's not you.
