    Hi All,

Selling my car so I can buy something fun since I no longer need to commute, ad is here http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3811583

I would really appreciate any feedback so I could change ad to make it better, possibly sell quicker, thanks.

If your looking for a quick sale I'd suggest making reference to what tax is on it. If not taxed and your willin to take a bit less than the 8k maybe consider taxing it for a year, makes it an easier purchase for people.

Is it a main dealer service history? If so mention it.

I'd give the date of the nct expiry also.

Needs to be cheaper than a similar mileage and condition 320d imo to sell quickly, I'd be thinking its not.

Great idea to get people to look at your advert. :p Just joking.

    In regards the actual ad;
There is nothing wrong with it, the pictures are clear and you gave a good description of how it was used. As the other poster said, address the Tax issue and it should sell faster.

thanks all, I take the point about Tax and NCT, I will check how long is left on both and update the ad with the info.

@RoverJames, I chose the price to match a few other c200 cdi's of same year, in your experience, if people are interested will they ring to make offer or not bother ringing as price is too high?

    Mmm I'd love that.

Anywho, I think it's worth about 4 grand...

Drop it to that and I'm sure it should sell quick enough

    :pac:

Realistically, they'll ring if they want it :)

perhaps a really good polish on the outside and maybe a good hoover in the inside as can see some debris on the carpet in the back seat footwell and also remove anything in the front that doesnt need to be there -that's only being really critical oh and take your body print out of the front seat as well!!

All very trivial stuff but somtimes these things can sway somone on first glance etc

I take your point on going the extra mile alright, lol at body print in seat, I never even noticed it :)

    +1

Also take out the non-standard cheap rubber mats - even if just for the sake of the photos, just give the carpet underneath a good hoover/brush. I feckin' hate those mats, really bring down the look of the interior. Your prospective buyers are looking to get themselves into a Merc, not a Micra.

Point the steering wheel straight and take your phone out, close the armrest. ;)

Those reg plates are shocking, but of course I wouldn't spend money changing them now.

Remove all belongings and mention mpg maybe. Its a 2.2 so my first thought was mpg.

I drove an auto for a few weeks, 50 mpg wasn't a problem.

Good selling point. Add it to the ad.

Throw in a "first to see will buy" that'll get
    'em fired up ;)

I think it's a bit expensive. It's above the magic 2.0 litre mark for tax also which puts alot of people off plus a manual Merc would be less sought after than an auto.

I'd give it a wash/wax and quick hoover, give the mats a good cleaning and take photos on a brighter day. Also no mention of tax/NCT duration, both will help sell it.
