Our accountant advised us to get health insurance before becoming PR residents as it will be cheaper than paying the tax if you earn over a certain income. Any of ye any experience of this? Any recommendations of who to go with?

You only have to get the basic hospital cover to avoid paying the extra tax. Most of the big companies are fine but much the same.
