Due to a family and jazz festival taking place in Blackrock, Dublin Bus have made changes to the following bus routes for Sunday 26th August. They will happen from 7am to 9pm. Road closures will be in place in Main Street and Carysfort Avenue.

I will tell you about changes to the bus routes below. There is no link provided on the Dublin Bus website.

4 - Monkstown to Harristown - Normal route

7 - Mountjoy Square to Loughlinstown/Cherrywood -Travelling through Blackrock Bypass in both directions.

17 - Blackrock to Rialto - Will terminate at Blackrock DART Station as normal. However, on the leaving the station, it will turn right onto Main Street (past Starbucks Coffee Shop) and then normal Sunday route via Foster Avenue.

84 - Newcastle to Blackrock - Will travel on bypass in both directions and will terminate at Blackrock DART Station.

84a - Blackrock to Bray Station - Same arrangements as the 84.

A special mini stage will be put up in Blackrock for Sunday's family fun day outside Bank of Ireland and Spar. There will be live music and entertainment all around Blackrock from local musicians and acts.

Paddy Cole will be playing at the event in two slots from 3pm and 4:15pm.

There will also an event in Blackrock Park tommorrow for the younger kids.

Was anyone on a 7 bus heading towards Loughlinstown on Sunday Evening at around 17:45?

If anyone wasn't in Blackrock earlier, I'll give you the story.

The 7 bus stopped outside Starbucks for some reason I couldn't think of. I am presuming that the driver made a wrong turn from the dual carriageway, not knowing that half of Blackrock Main Street was closed down as part of running the festival.

The bus stopped there for a total of about 2 minutes before the driver went into the DART Station to turn around and head back up the village before continuing to Loughlinstown.

The bus was nearly full of seated passengers at the time. I was given the impression that it was an 84 or 84a from Bray or Newcastle. I just looked at it in complete disbelief.

I was standing outside the Centra store listening to a band from Clondalkin at the time. Their gig was nearly over.

I'll bet that they were a lot of disgusted passengers with the driver making a fool of itself for attempting to get the passengers home.

probably because the road in front of him was closed

sounds like he was probably on the radio checking what was going on

what possibly gave you the impression it was an 84/a if you already knew it was a 7?

probably a few but most would understand it was a simple error. Bus drivers are people too by the way

    EDIT:
in regards to your first post, there is a thread here for this kind of thing: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054858345
no need to be cluttering up the place with new threads for this type of thing.
