Hi all, I thought I would tap into the great knowledge on Boards for some help.

I've recently started doing some digging on my family history, and have run into some difficulties. I have all my grandparents, and great grandparents, and all but 4 of my ggreat great grandparents. An this is where I am stuck.

I was wondering if anybody on boards knew where I can find information on the following people, or even if they are related to them:

Marion (possibly Larkin) married John Biggar in c. 1898, from Dublin, and her parents/siblings, etc.

Husband of Bridget Condon, as well as any children (already have 2 but think there was 4 others), from Valencia. Kerry

Husband of Anne Donnellan, as well as any children (have 3 but reputed to be 11 or 12, most emigrating to US or Australia), from Strokestown, Roscommon.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

From the 1911 census it looks like John Biggar married around 1908. FamilySearch shows an index to a marriage for John Beggar in 1908 which cross matches to one for Marion Larkin. A copy of the register can be ordered from the General Register Office for €4, which will show the couple’s fathers and what church they married in: To order the register you need the names, district: Dublin South, Date: Jul - Sep 1908, Volume Number 2, Page and Number 642.
    John: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FYDF-9J8
    Marion: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FYDX-H4F

A possible Larkin family in the 1901 census to watch out for might be: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003695397/

a marriage cert is the place to start with this one... presume you've already seen this possible cross-match on the BMD Index :
    Name: John Biggar
    Registration district: Dublin South
    Event type: Marriage
    Quarter and year: Jul-Sep 1908
    Volume: 2 / Page: 642

a Marion Larkin appears with the same references.

I'm not seeing any good matches for Marion at the moment on the 1901 census, but she could be listed as Mary.. her father's name and occupation from the marriage should help.

EDIT : missed that Mollymoo19 posted just before me... at least we both came up with the same clues

possibility for the Larkin family in Donnybrook with Marion transcribed as Manan. It's not very clear on the form but might be Marion...

    Larkin household, Claremount Road

mother's name doesn't match that census - but father's name does, and approximate year of birth :

those parents also fit for baptism of Francis, shown on that return :

1911 shows Timothy and Maria married 14 years, so c1897 - maybe Susan Kelly was his first wife, and mother to Marion and Francis ?

    see : Larkin household - 1911

marriage for Timothy Larkin and Susan Kelly in the St. Mary's Marlborough St (Pro-Cathedral) in 1869.

    Larkin / Kelly marriage

possible death for Susan from the BMD Index - if this is the correct person, and reported age is accurate she married age 16 :
    Name: Susan Larkin
    Registration district: Dublin South
    Event type: Death
    Quarter and year: Oct-Dec 1895
Age:42 (est. year of birth 1853)
    Volume: 2 / Page: 425

Shanew - thank you for the information.

Just a general question: in marriage records, especially Catholic ones, is it common or usual that the given first name of each person is Latinised?

on RC records, yes - surnames and addresses are in English but the firstnames, dates and notes can be in Latin.

re your PM - the details above come from the BMD Index on FamilySearch, the IrishGenealogy website which covers much of Dublin city, and the Census returns - all free access. Links to these are in the sticky at the top of this forum, along with other useful information..
