In most European countries (and Latin America) the erotic and horny has been just another part of the human experience and not something to freak out about. Something about these windswept islands (and the counties we all went off to inhabit) that has issues with the sexual functions of the body and erotic aspects of the mind.

I'd say we're some distance from being totally cool with it.

I think its seen in a different light,i dont think it is as far socially acceptable as dinner conversation,its not there yet,i dont think,but it is definately more widespread thanks to the dot.com bubble,theres more knowledge about types of porn,hardcore porn,torture porn,softcore porn etc..and that said if you watch it like all the time it can be a bad thing,it cant be good for the mind to keep watching it all the time,girls can be different about their attitude towards you watching porn,men tend to try and normalize you to watching porn or reading porn mags with them and that doesnt always work,if a girl sees you watching porn all the time chances are she is going to leave you at some point for someone who watches less porn..

I guess it depends on what's meant by 'socially acceptable'. Do you think it'd be acceptable to watch porn in public on the continent? I'd doubt it.
