Just wondered if anyone has used All Seasons Protective Coatings? Picked up their flyer today and saw that it's guaranteed for 15 years. I was wondering if it was worth it?

Nope,I'm guessing its a new name for evertex. All masonry will protect your house for many years but like this what they are offering it doesn't stop it getting dirty or faded or doesn't stop you getting bored of the colour and wanting a change.

I used to paint houses with a similar product for a living. Like most things in life, if its done right it will last 15 years plus like the guarantee. The problem being that it has to be done right. Most of the lads in the industry are greedy/lazy bastards and the their work suffers because of it.

As regards to it fading, I power washed my old family home a year ago and after 10 years it came up as strong as the day I put it on. Its also rare that anybody ever changes the color of their home.

I got their flyer at Bloom 2012 this year.

Didnt get a chance to ask about prices,as the chap was yakking away on his mobile phone to someone else.

Yeah I've got to admit the guy in Limerick didn't seem to enthused either, I said I would be looking to paint my house next year, and he just said " not this year?"
I said probably not and he just shrugged and handed me the leaflet!

If I was the sales agent I would have been taking details and trying to sell the product!! He wasn't even busy either:)

This product is not suitable for historic buildings. But these guys will not advise you of this when they are hard selling their product to unassuming customers. Walls built with natural stone such as limestone need to breath, and any rendering or paint applied to these walls needs to be porous too. For example lime render recommended for plastering a limestone wall needs to have lime wash applied as paint to facilitate the water evaporation cycle. Farrow and ball have great colours and mrcb are very helpful with regards to how it should be used.

I have had grave experience of All Seasons Proctective Coatings. Their knowledge of masonry types seems to be astoundingly unsympathetic as is Their treatment of customers. Their customer relations is appalling. As for their product manufactured by andura, it is most likely going to be ok but ONLY suitable for modern concrete structure. It will cause severe problems with water retention in walls leading to interior damp etc if used on a substrate requiring porous rendering and paint.
