Is Probate required?

Hi Just wondering if probate is necessary? Spouse passed away leaving no assets, no property. The only thing I will get is a payout from a pension he once held. Do I need to go through the probate process?? I am the executor.

Very unlikely that you will have to extract a Grant of Probate based on the information you have given. The pension company will tell you their requirements but they will probably only require a copy of the Death Certificate.
