    Hi Guys,

Quick question for the BMW owners. I've an 07 m sport with the what i think is a basic BMW radio. The aux port is under the armrest. When i plud in the ipod the sound comes through the cars speaks alright but no track information comes through the radio and i cant change the song using the controls on the wheel. Am i missing something on this like a setting or is there no way to do this?

It seems a bit annoying to have to keep looking at the ipod to change song etc. when driving.

    Any help?

    Thanks

Is your car the LCI model (facelifted version) from mid 2007 on?

OP, the aux-in only transmits sound, think of it as a headphone port where the 'headphones' are the car's speakers. I've an E90 M Sport with the same radio system, you do have aftermarket options to have your iPod integrated to the car, Dension being the first manufacturer to come to mind. I made up my own Bluetooth setup that allows me to play my iPod or iPhone wirelessly in the car for under €100, but you still need to change track on the iPod itself.
