Hey guys, I have two questions:

I'm selling a car to someone in the Uk. What is the process for swapping over registration etc? It's easy doing it here but I have no idea how it works when the person lives in the UK etc. Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Also, I need a car transported to the UK - like towed or on the back of another truck etc. Anyone know anyone who does this?
    Thanks]

To be fair, that's the buyers concern, they should arrange their own shipping.

Sure, but I would like to be able to provide them with the number of a person who can do it at a reasonable price. Sale is not finalised yet so I want to do everything I can to make sure it goes smoothly...

Make sure the seller is genuine and it is not some sort of scam involving Western Union or similar.

If you want it to go smoothly, don't get involved in the shipping. :D

I have shipped from as far as Bakersfield, but never ask the seller to get involved beyond seeing the car/van loaded. So much can go wrong before it arrives at its destination, and as a seller you want your responsibility to end when you wave goodbye.
As a buyer I'd want a solid, first-hand, recommendation of a local shipper to go collect and safely deliver my new 911. ;)

Fair enough, good point! What about the transaction then, do I wait for all money in my bank and then allow him to collect it? What security does he have that I won't run away with his money - how are these things usually done?

Anyone know about the transfer of ownership?
    Cheers

Not sure on that, there does have to be a relationship of trust between buyer and seller I think. Seems odd that the buyer isn't collecting personally though... Where did it sell? A club forum or general classifieds?

I've only done this with relatively low value VWs, where a flight and ferry etc. would dent my budget.

Selling to a UK dealer - they are reputable. Not 100% yet but he's made me an offer, lower than I want but I may have to take it.

    Any takers?

Do you have it advertised on DDK or VZi?

EDIT: Just spotted it on DDK.

Yesh I just put it on DDK a few days ago (give me a bump if you want :) ) but what is VZi? I have a good reccommendation on impact bumpers too.

Huge VW forum, but loads of Porsche owners too.
