I noticed on an email from thegaastore.com ( http://smi.newsweaver.com/nn5z2qk44mk1ov7uowsinn?email=true&a=11&p=26953765 ) that it mentions county ranges of with new crests for Cork, Mayo, Kilkenny, Donegal, Dublin and Galway.
I guess these teams are featured due to them being the remaining teams in the football and hurling competitions but does this mean that Nike are going to be making GAA jerseys?

At a guess, I imagine it's going to be printing those unofficial crest onto nike gear. Donbt Nike have intentions of becoming kit suppliers.

Kit suppliers need to be Irish anyway I think.

The Nike gear is definitely going to be those unofficial crests I'd say.

A waste of money really. If you're going to wear the unofficial crst, you'd be better off shopping in Pennys for your GAA gear.

The kit is supposed to be made in Ireland, most O'Neills gear is made abroad and finished here.

My county had trouble in the past re kit,we had an adidas jersey in 98 and it caused a bit of bother with the big wigs in Croker

I thought the whole "Buy Irish Only" rule was removed cause it was found to be in breach of EU law. I wouldn't have thought a company as big as Nike would be interested in making unlicensed products for teams, after all that would just encourage other manufacturers to make unlicensed copied of teamware that they have exclusive rights to.

I just noticed that the new Nike county GAA range is available on GAAstore.com

There are various different jerseys, t-shirts, hoodies available for the counties of Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny and Mayo.
Prices range from around €20 up to €50.
The only county that has a 'jersey' seems to be Kilkenny.
I think the front looks good, it's nice not to have the sponsor's logo, but I don't like the back of the jersey. It's €30.42, not too pricey for a Nike jersey.

    Nope, rule 1.4 (d)
    (d) The Association shall use all practical endeavours to support Irish Industry especially in relation to the provision of trophies and playing gear and equipment.

It's a bit sneaky but the wording doesn't say must be - which would be in breech - so it gets around the rule without breaking it.

Got this email from Padraic Mckeever of the GAA store today

All counties will be available in the next few weeks

    Thanks

    Padraic

To be fair i think the KK one is nice but i agree that the black back is unneccessary. KK should have adopted a badge similar to that tho instead of the arty farty one they adopted back in 2004

Gear is grand except with the unofficial crests I don't think I'd bother.

Would they not come embroidered? Pity. Unofficial crest doesn't bother me to be honest. So its not money going to our county board. Perhaps not a bad thing with the way our county board are 'handling' money

It says on the website that the crests are embroidered, but in the image it just looks like they were photo-shopped in.

Those images are created on the Nike site id say. Kits are probably bought from nike for resale.

He’s just bought in gear from Nike, Addidas, Under Armour etc and embroiders the crests himself.
We’ve got Nike & his own brand ‘McKeever’ training gear from him and it’s been ok. The embroidered crests have become a bit schewed after a few washes though

Can’t really see the point in his ‘Alternative’ jerseys. They’re not that much cheaper!
