Fixture lists in iPhone Calendar.

As we face into the new season, did you know that you can arrange for your province's Rabo12/Heineken fixture list (and indeed the national team's too) to synchronise to your iPhone's calendar?

Choose your team or teams below, and 'Copy' the relevant URL:

Ireland - http://origin.irishrugby.ie/tools/ca...ndfixtures.ics
Leinster - http://www.leinsterrugby.ie/tools/ca...s-leinster.ics
Munster - http://www.munsterrugby.ie/tools/cal...-firstteam.ics
Ulster - http://www.ulsterrugby.com/tools/cal...r-fixtures.ics
Connacht - (Sorry to our Western friends. I can't find the URL for Connacht)

Open 'Settings' on your iPhone, and scroll down to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'

Click 'Add Accounts', then scroll down to the bottom and click 'Other'

Click the last option, 'Add Subscribed Calendar'

'Paste' the URL that you previously 'Copied' into the box, and click 'Next'

After a moment, more boxes appear. If you wish you can edit the 'Description' to say 'Leinster Rugby', for example. Then click 'Save'.

Finally, you can assign a colour code to your calendar.

Open the Calendar, and click 'Calendars' on the top left, and then 'Edit'

Touch the calendar you want to edit. You'll need to scroll down.

Choose the colour you want to assign to that calendar eg Blue for Leinster, Green for Ireland and/or Connacht etc. White isn't available as an option, so in a kind of in-joke, I assigned Orange to Ulster (if you are offended by this, then Sorry. But you really need to get out more!)

Finally, click 'Done' 3 times. Beware, it moves after each click.

You now have the season's fixtures on your phone's calendar, and can start booking time off work for the days of the matches you fancy! Any changes to the fixtures should automatically update on your phone too.

Enjoy the season.

If you are so inclined, you can probably find URLs somewhere that would let you do the same for Mancherpool Hotspur, or whatever they're called.

Maybe check the URL?
Go to www.leinsterrugby.ie or whichever, look for the fixture list. At the top of the list you'll see 'Download this fixture list'. Click it. On the next page is where you'll find the URLs.

Cheers, just added Ireland and Ulster to iCal, have no excuse now, apart from trying to find a way of watching the matches

I already had the four Irish provinces fixtures/United's fixtures for 12/13 and Kilkenny's hurling fixtures for 2012 on Google Calendar.
These were synced to my Android phone with Jorte calendar app. I will never miss another important match! (And birthdays too, no excuse now )
