Safety Issues When Relocating Bus Stops

Whatever about safety issues at permanent bus stops - and I would argue that there are some which are too overcrowded - the temporary relocation of stops is an area where we as a city have an even more slapdash, eyes-closed, approach.

This morning St. Kevins was relocated by Gardai due to an event taking place on Dawson Street.

Now, am I the only one who sees a problem in the picture below?

And what will happen with the vastly greater and longer duration relocation of stops when LUAS extension is being built?

    CRIKEY !!

Unless this is being carried out under the DIRECT Instructions of a Garda then the St Kevins Driver AND his employer are WAAAAY off the safety radar here.

That's an incredible photo Conway635.....I wonder if Noel Brett of the RSA will use it on a future Press Release about Professionalism and Road Safety etc etc..

NB: It should be emphasised that St Kevins and any other Licenced Service displaced by such events are entitled to a SAFE and Legal alternative location to operate from.

What needs to be clarified here is WHO authorised this particular location and what measures were put in place to ensure Public Safety.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.
