    Hi

This is motors related and photoshop related. Thinking of getting my car resprayed and would like to see a rough idea of it in a different colour.

Could any kind soul with photoshop skills recolour the 407 coupe below in the blue off the 406 coupe below.

Sorry but I have zero photoshop skills so I don't know how to do this.

    Thanks a million

    Seriously....just don't do it...not on that car.

Unless you're resigned to the fact that you're never going to sell it.

Cheers but that's a standard 407 and I don't believe its Aegean blue (the colour on the 406 coupe)

I did Google it first. Found a white one which saved me asking for two Photoshop favours here :)

Well I currently own the 406 coupe in the pic and love the colour. Tis getting on a bit and its time for a change but the 407 coupe was never produced in the same colour. I don't think there are any particularly nice colours available on the 407 coupe so I think this is a solution.

Wouldn't plan to sell for at least 4 years at which point its value would be very low anyway

Imagine spending 3k or so extra just to have that colour. Maybe pick a different car like a laguna coupe or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,924 ✭✭✭Nforce

Maybe you could wrap the car in that colour? It'd definitely cost less than a proper full respray.

If you are moving from a 406 coupe to a 407 coupe then you are seriously going to be disappointed. A huge step backwards irrespective of the colour.

fair play for going through with it. not my cup of tea but well done for doing something a little out of the ordinary, you must love the car.

out of interest, how in depth is the job for €1600?

is the underside of the bonnet, engine bay, door jambs, sills, spare wheel well etc still silver?

was thinking myself too. is it still silver inside? 1600 looks really cheap!

some of the dearer spray places will charge almost 1600 just for the side of the car, looks nice though in your pic

Thanks for the all the replies lads

The paintwork is pristine on the oustide and the door jams are done, around the boot is done and all sections under the bonnet are done. The spare wheel well is a dark colour and wasn't the original colour of the car so that's not sprayed.

Essentially there is nowhere on the car that shows the original colour of the car.

I do love Peugeots alright (7 years driving a 406 coupe) so the next step was always planned to be an RCZ but unfortunately a bad back (at 27 ) put pay to that option as I found it too uncomfortable so I decided the 407 coupe was the car for me.

Still plenty of go in it (170 bhp with the remap) and really really comfortable

so they removed the engine and painted the engine bay too?

regardless of what work they done, absolutely fair play to you, you just never see that devotion to a car in this country.

    cool stuff! :)

Ah sorry I meant anything on the top under the bonnet...like the underside of the bonnet and side of the car where it meets the bonnet... Probably not explaining myself well... I'm sure someone in the know could tell by looking under the bonnet that it's been painted... No intention of selling it anytime soon so not an issue in that regard.

Scamalert's dodgy photoshop reminded me that, with the help of an expensive splash of paint and a few bits of body kit, its my dream to turn one of these....

    into something similar to this....

That Laguna Seca Blue looks deadly on BMW coupes.

You should have a look at the thread on BMW forum about the guy who turned a 4 door 3 series into an M3

Fair play. Too many people in this country are more worried about the next owner so get something that is easy to sell on and don't get a car they really want so I applaud you sir!
